1st Andy Bohnsack prevailed over all with a 4-0 +339 record. In round one he roughed up Lynda Finn with bingos of ROUGHENS and DIASTER, winning 444-351. Another much-anticipated installment of the Bohnsack/Benwitz (Bohnwitz? Bensack?) series followed, with Andy coming out on top, 408-337, thanks to bingos of DAWTING and TALCOUS. Andy's tendency to play exactly two bingos in every game, a tendency which has been evident since the mid 00's, continued into the third game, where he played LORRIES and RURALISE in a 416-316 win against Dennis Lloyd. Finally bucking the trend, Andy played three bingos (TAENIAE, REGRATED, BARTEND) and secured a perfect record by beating Thomas Reinke 458-383 in the final game.

2nd Thomas Reinke went 3-1 +272, losing only to the gentleman who appeared above him in the weekly standings. His first game was a close one, but after the large point totals were all tallied up, it was a victory over Mark Kenas, 475-471. Thomas got VIDALIAS, QUARTERN, and MULLING against Mark's EGESTION, TEARIER, and ESPOUSE. Their rematch saw Thomas find three more bingos (SOLIDER, GOATIES#, STARTER) in a not-quite-as-closely-contested 538-360 win. Thomas also won big against Richard Lauder, 471-306, playing TRIPLANE and HAGGISES (ed. note: haggis, being made out of sheep organs, is probably disgusting) (secondary ed. note: a triplane is a tri-plane, not a trip-lane, as this writer thought for several years after learning the word). As described above, Thomas' goal of a perfect night was snuffed out by Andy Bohnsack in a 383-458 loss.

3rd Charles Reinke went 3-1 +228 with a club-leading eleven bingos. He picked up a quick win in round one by defeating Helen Flores 454-341, getting INTERNS and COUPLERS to Helen's INVERSE. Things took a turn for the worse in round two, where Charles was held to just 325 points by Mark Kenas, who had 442. Charles found NOUNIEST# and REDACTOR in that one, while Mark had BONIBELL#, which would have been word of the week were it not a Collins-only word. Charles showed off the benefits of high-probability bingo study against Steve Hartsman, where his CODEINE, UNITAGES, and MISREAD led him to a comfortable 431-310 win. For the fourth and final game, Charles got his revenge against Mark, winning 512-402 and bingoing four times: INCANTS, REFLOWER, ENTRAINS, and BENTIEST#.

4th Lynda Finn also went 3-1, her big win being a 408-375 game against Bryan Benwitz.

1st Steve Hartsman topped a sizable group of players with his 4-1 +111 record. In round one, he was given the opportunity to accumulate wins at twice the normal rate (via a two-on-one game), and made the most of it: the two games ended with eerily similar scores, but they were both wins for Steve, 487-376 vs. Dave Kinzer and 489-372 vs. Sara McLaughlin. His bingos in the two games were FOSSATE, EROSION, EVASION, and WRESTLE. A game against Lynda Finn was somewhat more of a nailbiter, but Steve again got the win, 413-392. In round three, Steve scored a much-sought-after win against the formidable Bryan Benwitz, 398-369, halting a five-game losing streak (Steve got down ANGLERS and BENEFITS while Bryan had SLOTTED and TAPERING). Going into the final round, Steve had his sights set on a rarely-achieved 5-0 record, but was held bingoless in his matchup against Charles Reinke, which ended 363-511 in Charles' favor.

2nd Mark Kenas made it through the Collins-lexicon gauntlet of Reinkes to go 3-1 +264. He got his second-highest-scoring game of the year in the first round as he drubbed Charles Reinke 566-414. Charles gamely fought on with ONAGERS and MORTISER, but stood no chance against Mark's bingoey barrage of ANTIPYIC, UNPAVED, TOWNLAND#, SALTANDO#, and STREWING. Mark's bingo output dropped to zero in the second game, but he still beat Thomas Reinke 397-363 (Thomas found the nice HOGMENAY, but learned that nice bingo finds are not awarded extra points). Facing Charles again in round three, Mark got down DYSTOCIA, URETHRAL, and RITORNEL# to get another win, 459-340. Thomas was able to spoil an impending 4-0 record by defeating Mark in the final game, 480-439, getting a cool nine-letter OVERTRIPS# (after a failed OVERTAMED* earlier in the same spot) in addition to ANTILOGY and TENTERED; Mark had SUSTAINS and POSERISH# (ROSEHIPS is the NWL word in those letters).

3rd Lynda Finn averaged 444 points per game, her highest session average this year, while going 3-1 +215. Her first game against Ron Malzer was a 459-325 victory; nice finds of BRANNIER, SPIRANT, and FICUSES helped her extend her winning streak against Ron to seven games. However, she was derailed in the second round as she was felled by Steve Hartsman, 392-413, despite finding the uncommon EVACUEES (for diehard bingo nerds, that's just the third CUV bingo played this year, after UNIVOCAL and EVACUATE). In the third game, Lynda halted a long-term losing streak dating back to June of last year, as she beat Thomas Reinke in a close one, 410-397. She wrapped things up with a high-scoring 513-424 bout against Richard Lauder, playing ANOMIES and THEATRE against Richard's GUNITES, SEEDIER, and BLURTING.

4th Helen Flores went 3-1 -39, not quite enough for a "top 3" paragraph but certainly enough for a "consolation" paragraph. Her best game was a 416-388 win against Richard Lauder.

We welcomed two new players, Kimberly and Tajah, to our club. We hope to see one or both of them again soon!

1st Thomas Reinke was flawless (literally without flaw), posting a record of 4-0 +445. The starting point for his literally-without-flaw evening was a 442-309 win over Mark Kenas, finding SYRINGAS and PRESSMEN to Mark's GILTHEAD and DUOLOGUE (the latter bingo being the kind of word that would only ever get played after your rack management has gone horribly awry). Thomas then beat Richard Lauder 457-392, getting the nine-letter RETAILERS in addition to MISLEARN. A rematch against Mark Kenas was slightly closer than the first encounter, but still a comfortable victory for Thomas, 497-428; Thomas added to his hefty bingo total with SNATCHER, CIRRATE, and LAIRISES#. To cap off a perfect night where any accusation of flawedness can be summarily denied, Thomas defeated Ron Malzer 460-282, pummelling his opponent with bingos of OUTLINE, PURITIES, and GERUNDS.

2nd Richard Lauder went 3-1 for the third time in four sessions, this time with a +190 spread. He got his highest game of the year with a 524-369 clobbering of Ron Malzer; WEDGIER, CHEAPLY, and WASTREL were Richard's bingos, while Ron gamely fought back with SEMANTIC and AMORTISE. Richard found two more bingos, LUSTILY and ENTAILED, in his round two match against Thomas Reinke, but was felled for his only loss, 392-457. Richard recovered for round three, where he beat Lynda Finn in a lower-scoring game, 376-341. Lynda's phony of SHANDIE* stayed on the board (only SHANDY and SHANDIES - ADEHINS does not have a word in it, although one could argue it should), while Richard's UGLIEST was perfectly valid. In the final round of the night, Richard was matched against last year's club champion Bryan Benwitz, and rose to the occasion, prevailing by a score of 443-378 and getting two nice bingos, PHISHES and INFECTED (Bryan had ROSARIES and GRANDER).

3rd Charles Reinke went 3-1 +137 and had a club-leading per-game average of 472. He wasted no time racking up the wins as he defeated Lynda Finn in round one, 488-321, bingoing with VINTNERS and FOURTEEN (insert joke about how FOURTEEN scored more than fourteen points). He upped his bingo output with EVICTING, EMULGENT#, and RATIONAL in a high-scoring Collins-lexicon battle against Mark Kenas, which he won 510-473. Not content with a single 500+ game, Charles went for 500+ again in the very next round, beating Bryan Benwitz 560-436 on the back of PARTAKES (80), ZINCATES (122!) and PITHEADS (149!!). Bryan had some nice plays of his own, getting GHERKIN, ETALONS, and UNDERBED* (UNDERBID is a word). Charles' hopes of undefeatedness (not a word) were snuffed out in the final round, as his rematch against Mark resulted in a sizable loss, 369-520. Charles got down NICKERS, but Mark fired back with SIRLOIN, ENTERAL, and AMITIES.

We welcomed new player Carol, who went 2-1 and bingoed in all of her games. With such a promising start, we hope she returns soon!
